Hello world! My name is Alexis Mercurio and I am from the Burgh’ (Aka, Pittsburgh). My city and my family are both so important to me. I grew up in a family full of cops. Both my mom and dad are officers for the city. I have Grandparents, uncles, and aunts who are or were police officers. My family has taught me how to serve in the ultimate way, by being willing to give up their lives. My goal is to do the same by being willing to lay down my comfort, my belongings, and my time to further God’s kingdom and to help others. This is one of the many reasons I am so excited to go on The World Race. I am going to be traveling to Thailand, Malawi, and Guatemala this October. Amazing places that I am sure are filled with amazing people. I am beyond excited to see God working in the lives of me, my team and the people we get to meet!

I am also excited to meet my teammates who have too responded to God by saying send me. I can’t wait to reach the people who I previously have thought were unreachable. I am ready to be sent. I urge you to please pray for me and my team as we begin our journey through fundraising and eventually in the field. I pray that we will be able to be positive forces in other peoples lives and that we will show others the love of the Lord.
