Let me start by saying: I love the World Race, but I don’t like the stigma that comes with the term “World Racer.”

When People hear “World Racer:”

They react as if I’m some great Christian

They expect me to be a better person

They tell me, “Wow, your faith is so strong”

They focus on me, not Jesus

Jesus is the one who:

            Called me here

            Is increasing my faith

            Sees my brokenness

            Calls me redeemed

            Is pursuing me

The thing is, He is doing all of these things for everyone of us. Just because He called me here to show me these things doesn’t mean I’m better. It means I’m too dense to learn them at home. Haha

No ministry I’ve done on the Race is anything that can’t/doesn’t happen at home.

During ministry on this trip I have:

            Played with children

            Painted

            Scooped pig poop

            Read to kids

            Lead Bible studies

            Worked on social media

            Coached softball

            Played soccer

            Taught English

            Played “Duck, Duck, Goose”

All of these things and more can be ministry in any place, at any time.

So if you see someone going on a mission trip, please don’t praise them for the trip. If anything congratulate them for listening to God’s calling.

So remember that if God hasn’t called you to another country doesn’t mean that God’s calling in your life is any less: valid, beautiful, precious, hard, valuable, or necessary.

I am not a “World Racer” I am simply a child listening to where my Father has asked me to go.
