Our squad had the blessing of being able to be together for a few weeks in Manila before four teams leave for Tacloban and two teams (mine is one of them) stay in Manila. During our time together as one big group God taught me some things about what men of God are actually like.

I had this on going issue with being fearful and hesitant to trust the men in my life. This came from hurt in my past and I knew that, but that didn’t make it easier to work through it. There were only about three men in my life, including my dad, that I fully trusted. Then I came on the Race. The guys on my squad are unlike anything I knew before. They love us girls and each other selflessly, serve humbly, and protect us always. They are trustworthy and caring. They’ve helped me to learn that opening up is okay because they love me right where I’m at. They have helped me learn to be vulnerable. It is because of you guys that I am able to start moving past this trust issue that’s held me back for a long time.

So guys, this one goes out to you. THANK YOU! You have been a wonderful example to me and I am beyond thankful for each of you. You have had an incredible impact on my life, even if you didn’t know it. Keep on loving Jesus and being you.
