12.The Lord had said to Abram, “Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you. I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others. I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you.”

So Abram departed as the Lord had instructed,

Genesis 12:1-4

This talks about how God told Abraham to GO. He had to leave his country leave his family and ” Go to the land the lord will show you” The lord tells Abraham of the rich blessings the lord will give him if he follows what the Lord says. He goes and that shows Abraham’s willingness to obey and follow the Lord.

Abraham had to have been scared. He probably questioned God about what he was doing. It doesn’t really say if he did or not but we can guess that he did. The bible says that he went. He packed up his stuff and went because he knew of the rich blessings the Lord would return by him being so obedient.

Reality is setting in, it has  set in before but now it becoming really real. I will have to do like Abraham and I will have to get up and leave my family. This trip won’t be all that easy. I will not always be able to call home. I will not be able to visit like as if I was in college. I will not be there through  the holidays. I wonder if while I’m gone my dog will remember me. Those things like that worry me and I’m frightened beyond on belief.

Those are the sacrifices that I’m willing to make though. The Lord has called me to GO just like Abraham, and I’m willing to follow because I know what comes with following the Lord. “he will bless those who bless you” The lord will bless me, he will prosper me, and oh how comforting he will be while I’m away. The lord will have me under his wing when all of these things start to set in and I get really  home sick ,he will remind me that “all things work together for the good of those who love him.” There’s no better promise to hold onto than that one.

                                                                          With love,

                                                                                  Lexi
