So you’ve past the half way mark on your 11 month journey around the world. You are about 4 months away from setting foot on American soil and being bombarded by those who love you and have missed you.
You daydream about chic-fil-a and almost cringe at the thought of having to pay more than $2 for a meal.
You think it’s odd that you will have a room to yourself, and be able to travel alone whenever you please.
Going home is a weird thought.
For some it means staying on the field, for some it means going back to school, and there are some racers who have no clue what they are wanting to do.
… I can only imagine what God has in store for me…
Coming on this race I had no idea what a whirl wind of a journey it would be.
God has completely broken me down & torn away the image of who I thought I was.
He took me under His wing, and with His chisel has chipped away the nasty, dead parts of me.
He has shown me that to know Him is to trust Him. Even when things don’t make sense and you can not see what’s ahead, placing your trust in Lord is always a wise idea.
He has blown me away with His love. Through donations I have received in order to stay on the field, to the hug I got from a student at a school I toured in Laos, even the random strangers on the street who become fast friends.
7 months ago I would have never envisioned my walk with The Lord being this Devine. He truly has the best plans for my life, and although I may have my future planned out, He will ultimately have the final say.
In about 4 months I will be stepping off a plane and running into the arms of my friends and family I miss dearly.
My heart is heavy because I know things will not be the same. Friendships will fade away, community will change. My view of the world has definitely changed. My walk with The Lord has changed. But I am certain of one thing , that The Lord’s plans for my life gives me a new excitement every day. His promises are good and my trust is completely in Him and His timing.
If you are in a season of waiting, let this be an encouragement to you:
God is good and He desires good things for those who love Him. He will never leave you. He has all of your days written in His book. Keep pressing. Keep seeking.
