Twenty seven hours on a bus…and we’re finally here!! We’re in Nairobi (Kenya) for debrief–staying for one week. After many tears and a dozen rounds of goodbyes, we somehow managed to force ourselves on a bus and made the trek to Kenya. Rwanda was (is) a hard place to walk away from. I like to think that God will bring me back there again someday. Gonna need some more confirmation on that, Lord. Africa is breath-taking. The colorful clothing, the charismatic dancing, the upbeat music, the dark skin, the white smiles, the accents, the affectionate culture…simply stunning. You fall in love with Africa before it even sinks in that you’re actually here. God, you are GOOD.

We’re debriefing with Q-Squad–looking forward to having the entire September group together for the first time since training camp! ๐Ÿ™‚ Debrief is not something i’ve explained to many people. Sorry. At the end of months two, five, eight and eleven, our squad (all six teams) meets up with our leaders from the states. They fly in from Georgia just to hang out with us ๐Ÿ™‚ We spend one week having team meetings, listening to sermons, sharing stories about the past few months, challenging each other, and recharging for the months to come. After debrief, we’ll split up into our smaller teams and spread out across Kenya to meet up with our ministry contacts for the month. So…that’s what my next week looks like.
As soon as I find out what/where my ministry in Kenya is for the next month, I’ll update! ๐Ÿ™‚ Love you all! <3
