it’s amazing how much god can move within a short amount of time. we came into Costa Rica not knowing the people we would be working or living with and in less than 30 days he took complete strangers and turned us into family. he used our strengths and weaknesses perfectly meshed together to reach his children. He met us where we were at and used us for his glory.
this month shook so many preconceived ideas I had about ministry and how the life of a missionary really looks. It can be challenging and exhausting work but getting to show people the love of god makes all that work so worthwhile.
The people I’ve been blessed to meet over this month have shown me so much about who I want to be in Christ and what it means to pick up your cross and follow him daily. I’m not ready to leave them. I knew there would be some hard goodbyes during my race but I didn’t realize how painful it would be to leave part of my heart behind with people and places not knowing if/when I’ll be back but I know god will use these relationships for his glory.
I can’t even form words to describe the amount of love I have for Costa Rica and conexion ministry. All I can say is god is so alive and working in each and every volunteer, intern and employee within conexion and I feel blessed to have been apart of their team for a month.
So while my heart feels like it’s breaking saying good bye to the wonderful people I’ve met here, I know that this isn’t the end and I’m so thankful that I was able to spend as much time with them as I did.
So to jherson, the Tatum’s and everyone involved with conexion– thank you! Thank you for welcoming us with open arms into your lives. Thank you for letting us come serve along side of you and learn what true community and love for god and Costa Rica looks like. Thank you for being so open and vulnerable with us. I pray that god blesses you all for how much you have blessed us and I love you all so much!
Until next time-
Lu Lu 🙂
