My Vida

 

My name is Leslie Medrano and i was born and raised in Illinois.  I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and Love my little town.  I have not been a Christian my whole life.  When i was younger my family and i would attend a Catholic church but it was not until my mom felt the need to change churches that i began to wonder more about God.  About 3 years ago i gave my life over to Him and since then He never puts a dull moment in my life.  It’s extraordinary how he moves a person’s heart to reach and achieve things that are only imaginable with his power.  Looking back a couple months ago if someone would have told me that I was going to go on a Mission trip for 11 months I would have probably not believed them.  But once more God has done it again and has proved that he is in control of my life.  I feel so blessed to be able to embark on this journey that I know not many people often have a chance to do.  Every time I think about it i feel tingly inside (lol that’s the only way i can explain it) and i know that God is truly the one preparing and pushing me to go on this trip.  I’m so excited to meet all of my team members in person and can’t wait for training camp. 

A lil about me 🙂

• I love my God, my family, friends and life.
• I have a two cats named Jasmine (she’s the baby) and Molly (she’s very old and I think we lost count of her age lol) and Lucy my dog (named after “Lucy in the sky with diamonds” lol) 
• My Mom was and still is an inspiration to my life and I can’t thank God enough for giving me the honor to have called her “Mommy”
• I have a Dad who loves and supports me more than a dad should lol.  He loves his family with a passion and i Look up to him for that.
• I have 2 younger sisters who are my best friends.  I don’t even have the words to describe the love i have for those girls and can’t imagine how I’m going to make it without them during the trip. 

I’m finishing up my last year of college this year and i can’t believe it!!  It feels like a dream lol.  I’m going to school to get my associates in Interior Design and let me tell you, it has truly been an experience.

• I’m 21 years old and my Birthday is in June Yay! Love the summer lol
• I just went on my first mission trip this July to Haiti at Kings    Orphanage. God tested the entire team’s faith all through that trip but in the end he got the glory and we all grew stronger in our faith. 
• And lastly I am willing to go anywhere God Leads
