To all of the people who have supported me financially or have prayed for me:

The other day we were prayer walking and the only thing I could think about was how grateful I am for you all. This month we live in the mountains of the Dominican Republic. The view is incredible, the people are lovely, and the food is delicious. I get to walk up and down the roads and pray for the people who live here. I get to teach English to kids who live in the community around the local dump. I get to live with an amazing family who is doing big work for the Kingdom. This month is seriously a dream.

For this I say thank you.

Not all months have been this dreamy of course. There have been tough moments throughout my race. I’ve dealt with hard living situations. There have been tearful goodbyes as I hug little ones and leave their life just as quickly as I came into it. There has been hard news from home. There have been ministries that have pushed me out of my comfort zone. There has been homesickness. There has been heartbreak because of injustice, poverty, and illness that I’ve seen.

For this I say thank you.

Everything about the race is a privilege. I wake up every morning still amazed that God chose me for this life. I get to travel to so many countries and take His Spirit with me. I get to experience different cultures and learn other ways to do life. I get to live minimally and make the most of what I have.

For this I say thank you.

Thank you for blessing me financially.

Thank you for attending countless fundraisers.

Thank you for donating your personal belongings to garage sales.

Thank you for your prayers.

Thank you for your encouraging words and messages throughout these past 9 months.

Thank you for being a part of me becoming more like Christ.

Without you I would not be who I am today.

With all my love,

 Lesley
