Dear Family and Friends,
I am writing you this letter to tell you about a very exciting, life changing adventure I am preparing myself to embark upon.  I firmly believe, in my heart, that Jesus has called me to participate in an eleven month mission trip where I will visit eleven different countries through the World Race team with Adventures in Missions. This program sends young adults to partner with churches, ministries and local communities to be a positive force in Jesus’ name. This opportunity will give me a chance to “declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples” (Psalms 96:3). During this journey I will live within several destitute and unstable communities of this world. I will help, serve, work, pray, grow and most importantly share the importance of a relationship with Christ. My team will be going on our journey to Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras.

Over the last year and half, my relationship with Christ has not only brought tremendous healing to my once seeming un-repairable heart, but has begun changing me from the inside out. God keeps pulling my hand forward and challenging me to grow with Him even more. It is time for me to step out of my strength and into the purpose that I know He has intended for me. For the past year, God has pressed upon my heart to be a missionary for Him. The prophet Isaiah completely sums up my feelings on my desire to be a part of the World Race mission. He states, “also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.”(6:8) I am ready to learn what it is to truly rely on Him and show others His never ending love.

The lessons that I will learn and the changes in me will be of little significance in comparison to the many communities that God will allow me to serve on this journey.  The growth that occurs from this adventure will be beyond measure with God’s blessing.  Please know for certain that if you choose to support me you will be supporting a life changing experience for me, but more importantly for those who truly need Jesus. As I prepare for this upcoming adventure I am in need of great deal of support. First of all, please join with me in prayers for God’s blessing on this trip and that the Holy Spirit readies the hearts of those I come in contact with.  Also, that I am constantly encouraged to proclaim Jesus’ plan for salvation for every person no matter their circumstance.  Lastly, pray for me that God will meet my financial need as I prepare for January 2014.  If you feel that God has laid it on your heart to support me on this adventure please donate today. In order for me to participate there are financial deadlines I have to meet.
My financial deadlines are: October (date to be determined) – $3,000, December 18th, 2013 – $5,500, April 1st, 2014- $9,500 and I need to be fully funded at $13,500 by July 1st, 2014; which is the end of the sixth month on my trip. I humbly ask you to consider to give either a monthly donation or a one-time donation. You can choose the start and end date on my website, or as a onetime gift (for example $50, $200, $500 or more). Keep in mind, it is not the amount that you give that matters, every donation makes a difference. You can send checks to:
                The World Race Admissions Team
PO Box 534470 Atlanta, GA 30353-4470

I have included an information card you can fill out if you plan on sending a check. You can also go to my blog: lesahatfield.theworldrace.org, where you can donate with a credit/debit card, just click on ‘Support me!’ on the left. This blog was also made for you to keep current with my progress before, during and after the trip. I hope to be a blessing to you and you enjoy being a part of this adventure with me.

Thank you so much in advance for your prayers and financial support. I am so excited to see how God shows up and impacts my life and the lives of others as a result of this adventure. I feel humbled and blessed to have the opportunity to embark on this mission.

In His Service,
