I had heard about the World Race about a year and a half ago; my friends sister was preparing for it and it had definitely caught my attention. It sounded like it would be the hardest but yet the most beautiful thing to experience; to let go of your life, allow His will to become your will, travel the world and love people (just thinking about it right makes my heart skip a beat)!!! Immediately I logged onto the website and started reading blogs and watching videos, I was completely enthralled by what was happening and the love that had taken over; So I started the application process; I finished and never submitted it. Months past and then almost a year, and the thought of going on the world race still made me so happy but just seemed like such a far out idea, until I met my friend Reagan. I had no idea she went on the world race until she casually mentioned it and in that moment I heard “now you can go!”
I believe that the Lord takes us on adventures to show how BIG His love is, to show us that life is meant to be enjoyed and His love is meant to be shared around the world.
He opened the door for me and made a way for me to follow Him, all I had to do was walk through; He has made a way for me and will continue to guide me.
I do have to remind myself that the World Race is not an escape from my life, but it is a journey continued. I am on a journey of really understanding who Leondra is, and discovering his love in a new deeper ways, and this is going to be an epic way to see Him in new and mysterious ways.
This desire to do an oversea mission trip is very new and still very scary. Last summer I traveled to Haiti to volunteer at an orphanage, and that is where this flame was ignited. It is growing and growing, and everyday it becomes more exciting.
He is taking me to new and deeper places, and I am ready to go and love others the way that He has loved me!
