Cause a Holy Ghost Party Don’t Stop!!
First. I CAN’T BELIEVE THAT WE ARE IN MONTH SIX! It literally seems like a dream, it went by so fast but at the same time it seems like it has taken us forever to get to Thailand. Before I start talking about how much I love Thailand and the ministry we are working with I would like to update you on how Amazing Month 5 in Guatemala was to Team Sistah Fierce.
As most of you know we switched teams at the end of month 4, I was asked to step into leadership and lead a team of 7 ladies. We were assigned Unsung Hero(UH)/Ask The Lord(ATL) month and to be honest I was not super excited to do UH month again. So I gave it to the Lord from the get go, I said “Jesus, I am not excited about UH again BUT I know that you have the ability to do miraculous things and I want to see them. So this is your month and I will follow where you lead!”
And that is what we did.
He lead.
we followed.
Throughout the course of the month we watched the spiderweb of faith be spun right in front of our faces. We were asked to stay on the West part of Guatemala but the Lord took us far East, our “plans” are never better than His.
We started out in Antigua where we met Julisa, she has been teaching in Guatemala for 7 years developing an English program as well as being apart of raising Godly men and women. Next we headed to Xela where we had absolutely no idea what we were doing there, but He asked us to go. We ended up connecting with some of the people that were staying in the hostel who went out with us and fed the hungry and also ended up going to church with us. A church that we accidently went to because we were planning on going to a different church which we found out doesn’t have Sunday services. We were welcomed by the church family, and they asked us to speak in front of the congregation, and this church happened to be home to Chris who is on staff with Innerchange; one of the ministries we had been in contact with! After leaving Xela we got invited to go to Chichicastenango, we worked alongside Michael and Chrisi painting their playhouse for the bible studies they hold at their home. Lastly, but certainly not least we came in contact with Advancing the Ministry of the Gospel(AMG), this was one of those moments where His plans were far better than ours. Here we worked at the camp were we got to connect with students and dug 50 huge holes for avocado trees, which we eventually help feed thousands of students that attend their schools throughout Guatemala.
Every morning we would wake up and as a team ask the Lord for our next move, whether to stay or to go. To talk to this person or to not, we asked Him to lead us every second of everyday. There were times when we were uncertain if we Heard Him right but every time we asked we heard Him louder and more clearer than the time before.
As a team we made UH/ATL goals for the month;
-
Being spirit-led at all times. Seeking His guidance and wisdom for every decision.
-
Being a blessing to every person/ministry we came in contact. We want to serve and love them into the arms of Jesus. #sloving
-
To choose and fight for eachother. To strive to be united as a team and enter into His presence together everyday.
As we looked back on Guatemala we knew that the Lord had carried us through the entire month, and he had chosen us to be apart of furthering His kingdom!!
I guess for me this month was a lot about expectation, not my expectations of the ministries we would come in contact with or even with my team, but expecting that the Lord will show up and do some amazing things. He never fails me. I know this but I still needed to be reminded.
As we move into this new month it is the same song. To depend on Him for every move and expect Him to lead.
Until next time!
