Malawi was one of my favorite places for doing ministry…simply because the people were so so hungry to learn more about God.  Although its a poverty stricken nation the hunger for the Lord was incredible…people would seemingly appear out of nowhere to hear you share the gospel and line up for you to pray for them.  They have an incredible hunger for God.   But there is one problem.  Lack of resources.  In the states the household average is four bibles.  Most houses in Malawi have none.  In the states you can walk into a Christian bookstore and pick up a book on just about any topic, but in Malawi I don’t think they have a Christian bookstore.  We didn’t  find one after being in Lilongwe, the capital city for 3 weeks.  People in Malawi are so hungry for God and they don’t even have the Word of God- a simple resource that we often take forgranted.

Our squad has the opportunity to choose a cause we find while on the World Race and raise money for it. We all agreed that raising funds for bibles in Malawi was an excellent cause.  One of my teammates, Kaleb has already written a great blog further explaining the need for bibles and how to contribute:
Our Squad has been praying for a way to raise money to get Bibles to Malawi. When we were there we all saw the need for the Believers to have Bibles. Every church we went into the pastors would ask us to pray that God would provide Bibles for them. This is the answer to all of those prayers, but it is not done yet.

We need your help to provide those Bibles for them.

In most of the churches, the pastor is the only one who has a Bible and that made me think of how many Bibles I have back home or even at my church. These people want to know more and want to be reading the Word of God. Please help by sending money to help provide God’s Word to the people in Malawi.

If you feel the Holy Spirit moving and stirring inside you, please be obedient to Him and help this cause. Every little bit counts. The Bibles that we were already able to provide for them cost about $11 and if they get enough money together they can get the Bibles from South Africa and pay less, but then transportation cost would come into play. We are helping out our Brothers and Sister in Christ who work for Harvesters International in Malawi and the Bibles will get distributed to Believers all over Malawi.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and PLEASE be praying for people to give and also be asking God if He wants you to help out as well.
