Going into the month I was determined to be more devoted in my relationship, eagerly wanting to seek more Godly knowledge and wisdom. I created a set schedule of what to read, which caused it to become more of a chore rather than a choice. Quickly the chore of reading chapters drained my inspiration and energy. After a week it failed. I put too much pressure into the relationship, suffocating the desires of my heart, leading to failure.
As I watched eager young faces at New Jerusalem Ministries, full of love and hospitality, singing praises it was refreshing. Refreshing to see real relationships, eager hearts desiring to know their heavenly father more and more each day. There was a reassuring sense of peace in the room. My heart’s desire to read could breathe again, renewed and revived.
