NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD!

Combining our desire to run and financial deadlines that needed to be met, a run was organized to help raise funds. I love running long distances. The chance to get away from the hustle and bustle, running in the open air is very refreshing. Although we did not run in an organized race we decided that we were still willing to run, even if it was just us.

Sunday morning at 6:30 am Athena, David and I left Scout Hall to embark on the 13.1 miles. My training was very minimal, consisting of running once a week for about 30 minutes. To a normal person that would seem crazy. I do not mention this to boast but rather to inform you of the amazing power God showed me through the run. I ran because I needed to stay true to my word and that my actions would match my words.

On the last leg, my pace was slowing down and heart began to sink. My only goal was to beat my personal record from a previous half marathon and it was slipping away. I had about 20 minutes until I would like to be done and it felt as if I had a quite a distance left until I would reach the finish line. I realized that even though I may fail sometimes, God never has those thoughts and loves me unconditionally- even when I fail.

I was reminded that I am on this trip for a purpose and that this community I live in is here together so that we can love each other and help each other grow. This was encouraging, made me smile and re-energized me to help finish. I got to the gate a minute before my personal record and was satisfied. It wasn’t until later we discovered that we may have taken a wrong turn, running further than 13 miles. I am glad to say that I now have a new personal record.

Through your financial support and prayers I have now met my deadline for this month. Praise the Lord! Thank you. I only have $4,000 more to raise before December and am grateful and excited about what the Lord has in store for me over the next few months.
