Every month, I hope to recap all the “little things” I love specific to that country. For me, it’s the little details that make the month special for me. So without further ado, here are 11 little things I loved about India:

1. Chai! When you’re feeling blue, drink masala chai tea! It’s amazing how you will feel after sipping this drink.

2. The way the children’s dark eyes reflect the world around us. It’s absolutely beautiful. I also love their smiles, laughter and giggles! The children here are precious.

3. Watching the locals’ facial expression change from a frown to smile when you signal “namaste” [hello] their way.

4. The wrinkles in the older man’s and older woman’s face—they tell a story of past and present experiences. Same with their feet, every dusty callous and crease tells a story. It makes me wonder what kind of obstacles they faced to get to where they are today.

5. The heat lightning in the sky right before a storm.

6. Taking a cold splash bath at the end of a hot day.

7. Eating fresh creamy porridge with fresh honey and cinnamon for breakfast.

8. The view from the “Laughing Buddha” cafe in Hampi— it is beyond gorgeous!

9. All the talents of the locals that we have seen, heard, and experienced in Hampi!

10. The sunsets seen from the roof in Bellary!

11. Last, but not least, I have loved all our contacts so far!

  • Pray for Pastor Chris & Shaunti’s ministry in Bellary. They hope to plant 4 more churches in small villages there.
  • Pray for Ravi and his family—they took care of us when we were in Hampi!
  • Pray for Pastor Niranjan & his family in Hospitt, as they plan to reach out to the people there. God is moving in Bellari, Hampi, and Hospitt, and I hope you’ll join me and continue to pray over their ministry, and what God is doing there.
