Hello people! Leanna here with another update! I am trying to post an update every week (that might be on here for different social media platforms), but last week I got pretty sick and that really got in the way of blogging so I apologize! But I am back and better than ever!!
This blog is going to go over a few things! I am going to introduce my team so you can get to know them and pray over them. I want to talk more about where I live and what life is like here. Also, I am also going to explain our ministry here a little bit more as well! I hope to answer a few of the common questions like “what do you eat?” “How do you get to places?” “What do you do everyday?” ENJOY!!!! Thank you for your support! I appreciate you!

Mary!!
This is Mary! She carries the sweetest peace everywhere she goes! She is joyful and kind and loves the Lord with her whole heart! She challenges me and encourages me to step into what the Holy Spirit has for me each day. She is inspiring in the way she says “yes” to the Father and serves Him with everything she has. Mary is a thinker and brings an amazing new perspective to each situation. She loves watching movies and still loves me even though I fall asleep every time we watch one together. Thank you God for Mary.
KJ!!
KJ is the sweetest friend that loves and supports people so well. She is quick to intercede for others and makes people around her feel the Father’s love. She is a great friend to all! This girl is so good with kids and it is incredible to see her heart for the kids at our ministry. She is compassionate and is always willing to talk through different things with me. She invests in people and man oh man let me tell you she is so funny! She makes me laugh and has an amazing gift of making people feel comfortable. KJ has important things to say and I love getting to hear about how the Lord is using her every day. She is also very proud of her crocs and wants them to sponsor her! Thank you God for KJ.
Jamie!!
This sweet girl is Jamie! She is radiant and so very beautiful! She always has a willingness in her spirit to do more for the kingdom. She takes bold leaps of faith daily and walks in such a confidence in the Lord! I learn a lot from her heart for people and the way she lives her life with such joy. Jamie has such a fun spirit and invites others in to join the fun. She is fierce and passionate about what the Lord is doing and what He is going to do. She is also a good dancer! Dance parties are so fun with this gal! Thank you God for Jamie.
Chelsey!!
This is Chelsey and she makes me laugh a lot! This girl is so much fun to be around and brightens up the room with such a sweet joy when she walks in it. She embraces growth and walks in obedience every step! She is hilarious and has such a genuine spirit. She loves people from the depth of her soul and she is so easy to talk to about so many different things! Also, fun fact, we are bunk buddies here in Guatemala! This girl loves her snacks too haha! Thank you God for Chelsey.
Rachel!!
Rachel is the type of girl where once you leave a conversation with her your mind is blown by all the wisdom that you just experienced. She is super wise and has so much knowledge about so many different things. This girl knows her word and shares her wisdom with us daily and I am so blessed by it. She is gracious with people and is always willing to be there for the team. She is bold when she speaks about what the Spirit has placed on her heart. She has a faithful heart! Thank you God for Rachel.
Connaly!!
This gal right here is Team Capable’s fearless team leader! Connaly is so cool and is such a blessing to this team. She is gracious and makes herself available to our team to serve us the best she can. She listens to the Lord and leads us super well. She leads by example and always has the interest of others in mind. She is willing to listen and offer advice or prayer. She is funny and I love getting to know her and her heart for the Lord. Connaly is also super good at soccer! She is amazing!! Thank you God for Connaly.
This team is something so special! It has been an honor to grow with them and take on this journey with these amazing women of God. I love going through team time everyday with them as we each dive deeper into what the Lord has for each one of us individually and together. Team Capable is a group of Kingdom builders that are gentle and bold. We are here for the Lord and walk in obedience together. We fight for one another and build each other up with words of life. Thank you Jesus for these people that were so clearly handpicked by you. Thank you for bringing us together to serve alongside one another on this adventure. Team Capable, I think you are all incredible! It is a true blessing to know you all and be loved by you all.
So now here is an update about what life is like here in Guatemala!!
I live at the adventures in missions Guatemala base with my whole squad. All 47 of us. I live with my team in one room with bunk beds and a bathroom. They have 2 amazing women that work here at the base and cook breakfast and dinner for us Monday through Friday. For lunch we pack food every day to that we take to ministry. We have traditional Guatemalan meals and also some versions of American meals. It is fantastic! I love getting home from ministry and having a meal ready for us. It truly is a huge blessing! We hand wash our clothing and it is super fun and actually quite relaxing. Friends and I will do it together and it’s such a great time of bonding. On weekends, my team and I will cook meals together in the kitchen that is located in the main room of our base. The base is beautiful and starting to feel a lot like home. Also our form of transportation here is called the chicken bus. There are tons of school buses here that are painted many different colors. We use these buses to get everywhere. Some days they are packed and we have to try our best to find a spot to either sit or stand. There are also tons of vans that are available for transportation, but the chicken buses are the most common.
Now MINISTRY update!!!!
Just like I mentioned in my last blog our ministry here in Guatemala is called One Way Community. Here is a glimpse into what we do within this ministry. Everyday we take two busses to get to a town called San Lorenzo. There is a place called El Campo. This is where our bus takes us. Monday- Thursday from 2pm-5pm we tutor at an after school program with the staff from One Way. You guys the One Way team is filled with some of the most passionate and most amazing people I have ever met. They are so fun to serve alongside and learn from. I am super stinkin thankful for them. Like I was saying (hahah!), we tutor kids anywhere from 1st grade to 6th grade. We help with english, reading, math, and we also have some soccer practices going on as well. We do devos everyday and pray for the Kids everyday. The Lord is moving here you guys. WOW!! We get the opportunity to get to know these kids and their families by going on house visits every friday. We pray for them and love them and talk about how Jesus has changed our lives. It is so simple and so beautiful. These people impact me every single day. It is amazing. Also one day each week we install stoves for a family. We install the stove and then get to talk to the family and their hearts and pray over them specifically. It is an amazing ministry that provides a physical need and a spiritual need as well. It is one of the coolest things. Each day is a new day of getting to know people in our village and listening to what the Lord wants us to do. Clinging to Him daily and embracing this whole experience. It can be hard, but the reward is so sweet. I. AM. THANKFUL.
