Sometimes on the world race you have an option of taking a nap or going out into the village with no plan other then letting God lead.

This is a story about one of those times

One day deep in a village in India, we were scheduled for planting a garden, but that fell through, due to forces out of our hands. So we were all kinda resting and having some alone time.

Then I felt God pulling on my heart to ask Him what to do. I was a little annoyed at first, bc I was comfortable with what I was doing.

But I didn’t come on the world race to be comfortable. In fact I wasn’t created to just be comfortable.

So I decide to go find a teammate that didn’t look busy, I see Jaime laying on the floor staring at the ceiling.

Perfect

So I ask her if she wants to go on an adventure with God and myself. We sit down and pray, we ask God to show us where He wants to take us that day, who we need to reach out to. We get a super random list of items from Him:
Blue wood
Big light
Umbrella
Girl in a red dress
Coconut
White shoe

So we take that list and each other and we set out into the village

We walk for a while and we aren’t really seeing anything, I’m starting to second guess it all. Then Jaime points out a little girl in a red dress walking towards us on the opposite side of the road.

That’s her. That’s the girl God showed me.

As soon as I say that, she walks into a house. Jaime and I stop. We can’t just walk into some random house. As we are standing there questioning what to do. A women from inside the house, opens the door wide and is motioning for us to come in.

We look at each other and say “okay!!”

So we walk into the house, they pull up chairs for us and hand us a glass of water. It’s two women and the little girl in the red dress. We feel so comfortable with these women, almost like we already knew them and talk for a while with them.

Even though we didn’t know each other’s language, with them speaking Telugu, we somehow talked for twenty minutes. Jesus showed up and translated for us.

We find out the two women are a mother daughter combo. We ask about the little girl in the red dress and they say she’s just a kid from the neighborhood.

So I’m confused, I’m asking God “then why are we here, are we suppose to reach out to the little girl?”

He simple says “she was just the hook to get you here”

So we continue with the women, we then find out the daughter has just recently gone through a separation from her husband (which is not very common or easy in India)

God brought us there to speak healing. This women had gone through a lot in this unhealthy marriage.

We begin to pray, but not before they shut the doors and windows. As we were praying over her I just felt the dynamic in the room shift, from fear to peace.

These women have such sweet spirits and God wanted to love on them a little extra that day.

I learned a lot in that moment. One of the biggest things was, it’s easy to have our day all planned out, but what if God has something else in store for you that day? What if He has an adventure waiting for you, but we’re too comfortable with where we are?

That’s not how I want to live my life anymore.

Below is a picture of my teammate and I with the women God lead us to that day:)
