Step one: let the crazy ice storm begin
Step two: all the trees will fall down and turn your power/heat/water and all the things off
step three: send your friends to the store quickly to get some essential needs for survival
**IMPORTANT: don’t forget your Gatorade and grape jelly**
step four: make a fire. Good thing you chopped trees down last week
step five: collect icicles from the nature and boil it to flush the toilets
step six: bundle up in all the blankets you can find
step seven: Play games all night long with your friends

These three days without power, heat, running water and all the daily conveniences that I take for granted, almost every day, have reset my gratitude level-
I am so grateful for the times that God gives us to realign our focus, to remember that everything is His.
I savor the ice in my water, my warm house and morning coffee in a new way.
You would think it would be easy for us to remember that we are so fortunate here- but we effortlessly let it slip from our minds and are back to wanting more and not having enough.
“And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?l Is anything worth more than your soul? “
-Matthew 16:26
Bonus step: keep a tub of water in the hallway for the next ice-invasion
