So first of all, I’m fully funded! Woohoo! Its funny to remember when I first started fundraising for the race and had no idea where this money was going to come from. Fundraising has absolutely increased my trust in God and my dependency on him. It has shown me that other people care for me and want to support and bless me. I am so thankful. And I want to say a big THANK YOU to all of you for supporting me financially, with encouragement, and through prayer. I would not be here without your kindness and generosity.
We are in Botswana this month and I’ve just about fallen head over heels for this place. We are working with college students at University of Botswana and I am thrilled to be doing campus ministries again. Last week we went with the CRU staff and some students on their retreat to Kasane, in the north. During one part of our 14 hour drive, there were elephants on the side of the road every couple of kilometers. It was crazy. By the end of the week I had seen so many elephants that I was just like, “Oh there’s another one.” Its moments like that I stop and say “Wait, is this real life?” I am so blessed to be here and my heart is so full.
I am asking God to renew my sense of awe and wonder this month. I do not want to look at an elephant and say “oh there’s another one,” again. I want to soak in all that God has for me. I want to suck the marrow out of every day of my life and allow myself to feel joy deeply. I encourage you to do the same. Maybe there are no elephants on the side of your road, but there is beauty all around you. In creation, in music, in art, and in the souls of other people. Soak it in and ask the Lord to help you not miss a beat.
I am expecting great things from God. love, LeAnn
