So it’s finally happening.

Since almost a year ago now, I was looking into this mission’s trip called the World Race. On this trip young adults embark on an 11 month 11 country journey with the Lord around the world. With the heart of the mission as Jesus commanded His disciples in Matthew 28:19, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

I had the chance to read through blogs and watch countless videos on past racers, watching God move throughout the world. Seeing His love change lives and hearts, for His Kingdom. After watching and reading so many I wanted to experience this journey myself, wanting to go further in my relationship with Jesus. I feel that I am at a point in my life where I want to go deeper in my faith and trust in the Father, to fully grasp His love for me and the world around me, and seeking His agenda for my life and not my own. All while being in a community where I am going to grow, be challenged and encouraged.

AND now this journey, is actually starting and I am so excited to see where it is going to go! What?!

On Friday (1/12), I left for Atlanta Georgia to begin my trip at Launch. This was a time that I was able to catch up with my squad and meet our alumni team leaders and squad leaders that will be traveling with us the first 5 months on the field. We also had more training and preparation for our life on the field this next year, whether with cultural lessons, safety, travel, and more. Not only did we have time to prepare and sink in what was about to happen for us, but our parents came to have their own launch for preparing themselves for this upcoming year. I was so thankful that my parents were able to be there and for us to be able to go through this year together. It was definitely tough saying goodbyes when they had to leave, but I am so thankful to have their support. Mom and Dad, I miss you and love you so much!

Then early Tuesday morning at 2am…. we were packed up and leaving our hotel, ready to start the World Race! Currently, after days, a couple layovers and flights later, we are about to board our flight to Gold Coast, Australia. Even though it has been tiring, it has been so good being able to spend this time together as a squad. Once we arrived in Singapore, I had time with some of my squad mates to explore the city. With one of my squad mates having a friend in Singapore, it was so fun being able to experience the area with a local. One fun fact, I tried squid for the first time and it actually wasn’t too bad! I know this is going to be the first of many new foods:)

Once we arrive in Australia, for the next three weeks we will split into our teams, doing ministry alongside YWAM in Byron Bay and Brisbane. I know that each month our ministry is going to look very different country to country. But the amazing news is that no matter where we go or who we encounter, we get to share the good news of Jesus. To share with others His immense love for them and how they are able to walk in that freedom.

Thank you all so much for your support coming up to this trip! I wouldn’t be at this point without all of you, so thank you thank you! I greatly appreciate all of your financial support and prayers.<3 I’ll be keeping you all updated though this blog as the journey continues, so stay tuned for more!
