Hello everyone!
Finally, here’s the blog I’ve been promising for a while! Because Vietnam was a closed country, meaning we couldn’t say anything about God, ministry, etc., it was just safest to not write about what we were doing. But now that we’re out of Vietnam and in Cambodia, we can say whatever we want!
While we were in Vietnam, our ministry was to teach college students English in the afternoons. 2 or 3 of us would meet with the students usually at coffee shops around Danang for about 2-3 hours. In total, we would teach about 10 clubs every week, sometimes with 3 clubs in 1 day. The students were so incredibly eager to learn and it was so much fun teaching them! Depending on what level they were at with their English would depend on what we taught them. So, for the more advanced students, we would work mostly on pronunciation of words and the sounds they had the most trouble with. And then with the beginner students, we worked on specific topics such as health, parts of the body, your house, what’s in your house, etc. Being able to create friendships with them was so awesome! We encouraged them and they encouraged us! We even learned some Vietnamese words! (Vietnamese is very difficult to speak! haha)
Some of the students would take us out on the town! They took us on their motorbikes to go see the dragon bridge, and one night after club, the students from a club that I helped teach wanted to take us out to get authentic Vietnamese food and Vietnamese ice cream! Some of the best food I’ve ever had!
My time in Vietnam was so awesome! I loved teaching and building relationships with the students and becoming friends! I will miss all the incredible people I met and the friendships I made.
Here’s an update on my fundraising! Since I posted last, I have received $707! That is so incredible! God is so good!!! I’m now at $15,400 and 90.5%! My mind is blown right now! I only have $1,600 left to raise in 17 days! I know God is going to work in so many ways! If you would like to donate, please click the donate button at the top of my blog! Thank you to everyone has donated and has/continues to support me! Please continue to pray for my team and I as we continue serving in the kingdom!
Until next time!
