Dear friends and family,

Last year, my sister Nadia, went on an incredible journey to serve in an orphanage in Haiti for nine weeks. While she was there, I had the opportunity to visit her for one week. It was a very eye opening experience. Being there gave me the longing to serve others similarly. Little did I know that God would be taking my life on a much longer mission trip. One that would last almost a full year.

A few months ago, I felt God calling me to apply for this amazing, yet scary adventure called the World Race. I had researched and prayed about it for a long time and it seemed like forever before God told me to go. I was nervous about what my family would say so I decided to apply without anyone knowing. I thought, if God really wants me to go on this trip, then I will get accepted. After applying and going through two intense interviews, I got accepted into Route 3 for the World Race. Now, let me tell you what the World Race is and what I will be doing.

The World Race is an 11 month Christian mission trip to 11 countries around the world. One of the unique things about the World Race is that it’s not only a mission trip, but also an intensive discipleship program designed to launch my generation into our specific kingdom calling. Through the World Race, my team and I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, and bring the restorative hope of the Father’s love to many tribes and nations. I will be traveling to India, Nepal, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Greece, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Swaziland, Botswana and South Africa.

I will face many challenges all throughout the World Race, but as I prepare for my departure, one of my greatest challenges is obtaining financial support. Like most other missions organizations, World Race participants are required to fundraise financial support. In order to leave fully funded at the beginning of January, I need to raise $17,017. This money will cover all of my field expenses for the 11 months of the trip. As I take this great leap of faith in following the Lord, would you prayerfully consider joining me with a monthly support donation or a one time gift? Financial support can be sent to me, or sent directly to Adventures in Missions by using the enclosed donation form.   You can also visit my blog at (http://leahschult.theworldrace.org) to find out more about me, donate online and follow my journey. As important as financial support is, prayer coverage is just as coveted. Please use the enclosed card as a reminder to pray for me and my team before and during our journey as well as for all those we will encounter.

Yours in Christ,

     Leah Schult
