Hello everyone!
I’m writing to you from Danang,Vietnam! This month, being spoiled is definitely an understatement. We are so blessed with where we are living. Our apartment is 1 block away from the beach! For geography lovers, it’s the South China sea or as Vietnamese people call it, the East ocean! We have a kitchen in our apartment with a gas stove so we can cook our own meals! That’s something I was super excited for! I love being able to cook but being able to cook for my teammates is even better! We also have hot showers!!! Such a great luxury we often take for granted. In India and Nepal, hot showers were pretty much non-existent.
Once we got settled, we got a tentative schedule of what m!nistry would look like and what exactly we would be doing! We would teach college students English at different clubs during the week. We were all so excited to get started but we didn’t realize how much free time we would actually have on our hands. We all got pretty frustrated at first since we didn’t know what to expect and we didn’t realize we would have so much down time. The enemy was definitely trying to work his way in and get in our thoughts. Some days were harder than others. There was a day this week where I was feeling pretty homesick. I was missing my family, certain things back home like my comfy bed and not wanting to do this anymore. But G0d reminded me of how good he is, how he knows what I’m thinking before I even think it, and if I just continue to pursue him, it will get easier. It definitely has gotten easier. I know there will be days that are hard and I will want to quit and time after time, G0d will keep reminding me of his goodness and his faithfulness.
I know G0d called me to come on this trip. I have no doubt about that. I’m learning to trust in him with all things. Sometimes it’s not so easy but it’s a learning process. For my next blog, you will get to meet some of the English students I have fallen in love with! They are so great and it will be very hard to leave them!
