Well, I’m writing to you from India! After a 13-hour plane ride to Qatar, we had a 2-hour layover and then a 4-hour plane ride to Hyderabad, India! We arrived in Hyderabad around 2am, went through immigration, got our bags, boarded a bus and arrived at the house where we were staying around 5am. So, by the time we got everything in the house and situated, we were able to get some sleep from about 6am-12pm. The jetlag hit me pretty hard. We had orientation at 2pm till and everyone was super tired. We had a few days to explore Hyderabad and on the 9th, my team and I took a bus down to Bangalore. However, we didn’t take a normal bus. Since we were traveling at night, we took a sleeper bus so we got to literally lay down, and sleep on the bus! It was wonderful! We arrived in Bangalore safe and sound and had a day to rest before we started ministry. Our schedule for ministry was going to a ministry in the mornings, come home for lunch, rest and then go back out around later afternoon to usually go visit a church or do home visits where we would pray over people, sing some worship songs and give testimonies or encouraging words. We got to visit a few orphanages and the kids were so cute! I wanted to take them all home! We had a lot of fun playing games, teaching them Bible songs and telling stories! The children were always so eager and energetic when we would visit! I can’t describe to you the feeling of having to eat rice and curry for literally every meal. Our cook would sometimes change it up and use potatoes or a food sort of like grits instead of rice but you could guarantee that there would be curry and hot peppers in every meal. I’ve learned to be thankful for the food I get to eat, even if it is rice and curry. I did, however, learn to make one of our favorite foods, called chapatti! It’s almost like a fried tortilla but a little less fried and it’s made with wheat flour. We love eating it! This is Regina, our cook. She doesn’t speak English that well but she gets her point across when she needs to!

But enough about food. This whole last week we got to volunteer at an organization where they teach girls who come from the slums how to sew, they learn computers and they can also learn how to be a beautician so they can get a job to provide for their families. It was so much fun being able to spend time with them and love on them! Our time is up in India but I have loved hearing everyone’s stories and learning about Indian culture and just loving on all the people we encountered.Thank you all so much for your continued prayers! So far, I’ve stayed healthy and haven’t gotten sick at all! Look for another blog soon!
