The title to this post may seem rather short, but these two letters are how God has called me to World Race and changed my life. I had been in what seemed to me like a long season of sitting still and praying that God leads me wherever I am to be used for His glory. I strive to be His vessel daily and am by no means saying the spreading of the gospel can only be done overseas. But I have always had a passion for these unreached people groups. These two letters have ignited a fire in me that has transitioned me from my previous season of sitting still into this new season filled with an urgency to “go”.

What will my team and I be doing on this trip? My team and I will be attending the World Race: Semesters trip to Costa Rica next July in 2020. We will be spending an entire month serving and loving on the community of Jaco. Jaco is a beach-side community in Costa Rica, so much of our outreach will be centered around the surfing community and other beach programs. We will be leading children’s programs and surf clubs while also helping with improvement projects throughout the town (someone pinch me because this just sounds too good to be true). Much time each day will be spent in prayer for this community to acknowledge and accept Christ for who He is to us. We are going on this trip with one purpose: spreading the gospel and God’s love to all that are willing to listen.

How did I choose the World Race and Costa Rica? I have always had a heart for missions, but I never knew how or when to take the next step (I will get into this deeper in an upcoming post). One day I was having a conversation with a coworker that led to World Race. I briefly researched the organization and the rest is history. I applied in that same sitting and within a week I was accepted to the Costa Rica trip. I have always been fascinated by the ocean and construction (I will also go into passions in an upcoming post). I seriously could not have dreamed of a more ideal trip.

The fact that I will be sharing God’s love with people on the beaches of Jaco, Costa Rica this time next year is still so surreal to me. I am eager to see how God prepares me for this trip. I am praying for spiritual growth of my team and I so that we are properly equipped to serve. I am praying for the lives that will be forever changed and will change our lives in Jaco. I am also praying that God blesses me with the financial support I need to make this trip possible. If you feel led to donate financially, there are several different ways to do so by following the “Donate!” tab on my Home Screen. Any amount is greatly appreciated and a bigger blessing than you will ever know. If not, your prayers for my team and leaders, the people of Jaco, and myself are just as needed.

Anyways, you guys are awesome and thank you for taking the time to read this. I will keep this blog updated leading up to the trip and also during our month in Costa Rica. I look forward to sharing my heart for missions, Costa Rica, Christ, and so much more as we take this journey together!
