So here you are.  You’ve located me, Leah Vogel. You clicked this link to find out more about me. What am I like? (I pretend I’m cool). Am I funny? (I wish). What am I doing here? (I don’t exactly know yet).

My roommate tried to help me write this section.  Here’s what we came up with: Hi, I’m Leah. I like cats and boats and going on adventures.  I also love Jesus. You can find me wherever there’s food.

Basically, I’m awkward. I’m indecisive. I have a fondness for looking at world maps, and also good typography.  The palms of my hands are extremely ticklish, and I think hugs are the best. Cheese is my weakness.

Okay, enough of the random facts. (Well, probably not. I love a good random fact). Here’s a rundown of things you maybe want to know about me:

I grew up in Wisconsin, with my mom and dad and older brother Nate, who’s 26.  If you were wondering, we’re a cool bunch.  Here’s a few pics to prove it:

I dearly love them. I also have a cat.  And because I already mentioned that I love cats (I once got voted most likely to become a crazy cat lady), here’s a picture of my cat. Her name is Lena. I know, she’s adorable:

I just graduated from Colorado Christian University, with a degree in youth ministry. I graduated in 3 years instead of 4…yikes.  Which also means I’m a young’un — I turned 21 on June 19th. Hooray for spending the next year with people all older than me! (Don’t let that fool you, I’m actually very excited for what I’ll gain from that!)

I love to travel. Traveling’s my favorite (name that indirect movie quote). I live in Colorado so I can wake up and see mountains, and spend a lot of time (read: a LOT of time) in their beauty. I’m constantly amazed at the majesty of God’s creation, and love anything that allows me to spend time in it: hiking, camping, hammocking, snowboarding, climbing, and general outside-ness. (I lived my entire summer before the race in my car/tent just so I could live in the mountains!)

Most importantly, I have a beautiful relationship with my creator and redeemer, the Lord of everything. Jesus Christ died so I could live, and live I will.  I find great peace in knowing that I can trust in the Triune God, and that He loves me with a deeper love than I could ever imagine.

Putting my faith in Jesus Christ is definitely the most difficult thing I’ve ever done and continue to do.  It requires trust that He’s got me, and that He is in control. I can’t put into words what the glory of God means to me, or how He’s currently turning my world upside down. Read my posts or email/call/text/carrier pigeon talk to me and I’ll tell you all about it!

I’m so excited for the World Race. Golly, I can’t even explain why I’m so pumped. It’s the scariest, most exhilarating thing I’ve ever done, and I can’t wait to experience the fullness of everything that it includes. And because you just read this whole rambling of my life (congratulations), you have officially joined me.  So let’s go! I’m going to minister to the nations in Jesus’ name, and I’m excited that you’re along for the ride. Hang out for a while, and discover what God has in store.
