Hi, my name is Leah, and I’m a college graduate. Holler.
This past month has been a whirlwind, to say the least. Packing, cleaning, and moving out of my apartment, writing papers on papers on papers for my six classes, graduating, spending time with family, training for a new job, getting sick, and to top it all off, trying to raise $16,000. And although I’ve been having adventures and meeting new people and livin’ it up, I’ve realized that I basically didn’t breathe for a month.
It was a whirlwind that picked me up, spun me around, and presently landed me in summertime. I’m not complaining — I had a ton of new experiences, and really enjoyed all of it.
But now…it’s go time. I have 3 months until I launch for the race, and a long way to go in the realm of preparation. And in the meantime, I have a bunch of stuff to tell you about! They’re numbered, so you don’t get confused. Because I’m all over the place. Here we go…
1. T-SHIRTS are in!
They’re here. I’m pumped. If you ordered one and have already paid for it, I’ll be getting them out (either by mail or in person) hopefully very soon. And if you haven’t given me money…please! Contact me to arrange some form of payment, and you’ll get your shirt as soon as that happens.
2. I Registered…Like for a Wedding, But Not
Yes, I need financial support. Please. But also, there’s a ton of other stuff I need for this journey. Random things like vaccinations, and a portable hard drive, and plug adaptors. 3. A Prayer Reminder
I made these cool cards. They’re pretty neat. They say my name on them, and my blog address, and how you can be praying for me. And they’re only the size of a business card, so you can stick it anywhere (wallet? fridge? The possibilities are endless!). If you’d like one of these cards to remember to pray for me, sing my name and I’ll come running.
4. I’m Hunting for Monthly Supporters
Hunting, but not with guns. With nice words and hugs. See, I’ve raised a bunch of money (praise the Lord!). But I still have a lot more to go! Right now, I’m looking for people who are willing to invest in me financially for 6 months. Yep, every month. You sign up to have Adventures in Missions take a certain amount from your bank account every month, and you don’t have to do anything else! God is working, friends, and being a monthly supporter is a great way to jump onboard and join the fun. If 45 people decide to join me financially at $20/month for just 6 months, then I could be 66.666% funded! (I don’t do math, so those numbers probably sorta add up. I hope.) $20 is like, 4 lattes. You can survive without 4 lattes. I’ll join your support group, just like you’ll join mine!
Please please please. Think about it. Pray about it. And if you feel like God is nudging your heart to get involved, don’t hesitate to ask me questions. I’ll be truthful, and I’d love to talk to you more about it.
