Now that you kind of know about me and you kind of know about the World Race, let’s get specific…
The World Race in an 11 month mission trip to 11 different countries.
– There are many routes to choose from, but I chose Route 1: the Spanish Route.
Route 1 includes Central and South America.
– Specifically: Bolivia, Perú, Colombia, Guatemala, Chile, Nicaragua, Panama, Ecuador, Honduras, El Salvador, y Costa Rica.
I’m pretty sure we’ll have an interpreter some of the time.
– However, I’m in the process of learning of Spanish. Plus, I bought a Pocket English to Spanish Dictionary for a quarter!
I’ll travel with a team of about 7 people for the duration of the journey.
– I don’t know who the people will be, but I will meet them at training camp in October. We’ll live together, work together, minister together as well as to each other.
Adventures in Missions has partners in every country we go to.
– So my team and I won’t just be relying on the kindness of strangers. Well, not exactly. We’ll stay with the partner and work in their ministry for the full month we’re in that country.
We’ll be living out of a backpack for the full eleven months.
– We’ll be sleeping in a sleeping bag and pitching our own tents. I’ve heard that in some countries the tent is unnecessary. I’ve also heard that in some countries the tent is your home all month.
The point of this trip is ministry.
– Ministry has many different forms. Caring for children, Bible schools, presentations and messages, praying with people, praying for people and areas, music, building and working, talking one-on-one, building relationships, and a lot more.
I will be a missionary and I will be in ministry for 11 months.
– I wish I could tell you specifically what my role will be in all of this. I would love to tell you I have a specific spiritual gift that I will use in a certain way. I wish I could tell you just how I will be effective on my team and to the people.
I don’t know these things. But I’m glad I’m clueless. I have nothing of my own to offer. I’m just believing in that what the Lord says is true, that I am a part in the body of Christ.
I hope this blog let you know a little more about the World Race!
