This blog started as a bunch of prayers scribbled down for myself.
Things I’m asking God for.
Areas of my life I want to change.
Ways I’ve seen God show up this year.
But as I was writing and thinking back on all He’s done in my life
I realized that I don’t just want these things for me anymore.
I want them for you.
Tons of people read this blog that I don’t even know personally.
So to my amazing friends and family, random strangers, and faithful stalkers-
this is my prayer for us.

I pray for radical abandonment.
Purge your closet.
Your savings.
Your junk drawers.
Your kitchen.
Your extra car in the garage.
And give it to someone who is without.
Live in a way that forces you to depend on God to show up.
Blessed are you when you give what you cannot keep
To gain what you can never lose.

I pray for crazy faith.
Faith that never stops believing.
Never stops leaning in to God for the miraculous.
Never stops chasing the impossible.
I pray for a faith that brings more questions than answers.
And a journey for answers that ultimately leads to more of Jesus.
A faith that keeps their eyes fixed UP.
No matter the size of the army surrounding them.
Because they know He’ll get them to the promised land.

I pray for things in your life to die.
Control over your future.
Obsession over your body image.
Lies you tell so people will like you more.
Addictions you’re hiding.
Idols that consume you.
Bitterness you’re clinging onto.
Fears that define you.
Selfishness that controls you.
I pray for God to come in and blow it all up.
Trust Him to complete what He’s started.
There’s SO much good waiting for you on the other side.
Count everything as loss
for the surpassing worth
of knowing Christ Jesus as Lord.

I pray for you to embrace the Holy Spirit.

If you really believe this whole Trinity 3 in 1 thing then live like it.
Read Acts.
Pray for sick people.
And actually believe the words you’re praying.
Don’t be the one lacking the faith for the miracle.
Prophesy.
The word isnt as crazy as it sounds.
It simply means to encourage, build up, and console with words from God.
Follow where the Holy Spirit leads you.
Say what you feel like He’s given you to say.
Use your discernment, but be bold.
Do not quench the Spirit.

I pray for you to hear the voice of God.
Some need to hear Him speak truth-
You’re forgiven
You’re created for a purpose
He’s proud of you.
Others need to listen for Him calling you by name to go.
Leave your house.
Sell your things.
Pack up your family.
Or maybe just your dog.
Get on that plane and go.
And for YOU.
I pray you’ll fully embrace both the gift and the responsibility of hearing His voice.
You know its Him. You know what He’s saying to you.
But you’re scared.
Or unqualified.
Or too busy.
Don’t wait anymore.
You are His mouthpiece.
Breathe Him in deep and then breathe Him back out into the world.
Speak.

I pray for your heart to burn with passion.
I don’t know what it is for you.
For some people its injustice.
For others its poverty.
Maybe its widows.
Single moms.
Street kids.
Orphans.
Human trafficking.
Abuse.
Education.
Old people.
I don’t know what makes your heart burn
but I hope that place inside you rubs up against a match ASAP.
I pray for the flame that erupts to ignite passion inside of you.
The kind of passion that drives you into action.
Don’t settle for a life that’s less than you were created for.
Let it burn.

I pray for us to be thankful people.
A kind of thankfulness that goes way beyond
saying grace at mealtimes and an extra long prayer on Thanksgiving.
God is radical enough to tell us to give thanks in all things.
Even when life is hard and we don’t FEEL joy.
Even when the very last thing we want to do is say thank you.
He still asks us to give thanks in all things because He knows the secret.
He knows that the feeling of joy starts with the action of thanksgiving.
Feel thankful and it is impossible to feel angry.
We can’t experience both emotions at the same time.
Start by noticing the little things around you.
The sun coming in through the window.
A handwritten letter from a good friend.
The smell of clean laundry.
And if you’re at home with a washer and dryer
be extra thankful for that one for me.
Clean laundry is a thing of the past for this girl!
In everything give thanks
and the peace of God will guard
your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

I pray for more of God.
There’s always more to discover with God.
Deeper places He wants to take you in His heart.
He really is endless.

To His child living in the chains of the past
with stone walls built high as the sky around your heart
the offer is freedom.

To His daughter walking with her head down
buried in the shame and guilt of giving herself away
the offer is redemption.

To His son lost and empty
after chasing all the fleeting things of the world
His arms are wide open.
the offer is forgiveness and a fresh start.

To His hurting one,
the one whose pain from losing someone they love
is still so fresh and tender,
or the child left fatherless after a divorce,
or maybe he was never there in the first place,
the offer is healing from the perfect love of a Father.

And for the ones loving life up on the hills
full of joy just soaking in His presence,
His offer is the mountaintop.
He wants you to keep on coming
because there’s more.

There’s always more.
Amen.
