I am officially going on the World Race in July (route 1)!

Here are the countries I will be going to: Albania, Romania, Malawi, Zambia, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Chile. One country per month for eleven months.

So, I have to raise $16,277 dollars to go on the World Race and I leave in July. The good news is that I have until the end of 2015 to raise it all.  The bad news is that I could be sent home if the deadlines aren’t met.  Here they are:

Deadlines:

05/01/15 – $3,500 (2 weeks before Training Camp) 06/17/15 – $7,500 (2 weeks prior to my trip) 10/01/15 – $11,000 (End of 3 months on the field) 12/31/15 – $16,277 TOTAL DUE (End of 6 months on the field)

Below is some information about what the money is used for.  Thank you so much to those of you who have donated or pledged monthly so far.  I appreciate you more than you know!

(the following charts and information are borrowed from another racer’s blog)

Training Camp–$326 – (Covers my training before departure. This is a week-long session in May)

Field Support–$651 – (Assisting to get us supplies, local contacts, etc.)

WR Development Program–$1,953 (Improvements & Developments)

Administration Fees–$2,767 – (Processing fees and paying the staff who organizes travel, meals, missions, etc.)

World Racer–$10,580 (this is used for me!)

So 65% of what I raise is used for me! To be clear, though, it does not go to Leah’s pocket, but it is used by Adventures in Missions for me. Let’s break down where that World Racer money goes.

Travel between continents – $4,761.00

Food – $1,375.40

Lodging – $2,010.20

Transportation – $1,163.80

Long Distance Travel/Misc. Supplies – $1269.60

All of this money does not include daily expenses I will have on the race or the remaining gear and equipment I will have to get but it is the big goal I have to meet.

You know, it gives me chills thinking about going on this adventure. God is changing things around the world and I simply asked to be a part of what He is doing.  Thank you for being invested in me and having a desire to be interested in what I’ll be doing.

To me, support means more than a quick prayer or a check – it’s far more profound than that. Support represents us locking arms together, sharing the vision that God has put on my heart and the mission He’s put in my hands. God designed us for community, and even when I’m living halfway around the world, I consider YOU my family. If my story captures your heart in some way, I would love for you to join me on this journey. There are several ways you can do that:

  1. Share. Helping me share my message is one of the most meaningful ways you can show your support. If something I write resonates with you, I encourage you to pass it along. Follow my blog and share it with others. Connect with me on Facebook and help me get the word out about what I’m doing. I would be honored if you would share my story.
  2. Prayer. I recognize there is no way I can do this alone. I am dependent on God working in me, through me, and around me. This journey will be stretching and challenging me in many ways that I can’t anticipate, but I know the prayers going before me will make a way
  3. Financial. Of course, a large part of my need is, very practically, financial. I would be honored to have you join me on this journey. You can give online by visiting the Support page on my website. Donations can also be mailed in. And if you’d rather not deal with any of it, you can always send a check to me!
