Here is a little more information about this crazy trip I’m taking!

What is The World Race?

The World Race is an 11-month Christian mission trip to 11 different countries around the world.  It’s a way for young adults to abandon a traditional lifestyle in exchange for a dramatic paradigm shift. Through adventure, ministry, community, and self-discovery, World Racers develop broken hearts that propel their hands to act for God’s kingdom around the globe.
How can you support me?
Prayer!  Both my teammates and I will be needing much prayer as we embark on this trip and as we prepare to leave. Financially! I am responsible for raising $15,500 in support. Whether you can donate $5, $50, $100, or more…every bit helps! I know that God has called me and that when we are obedient to his call he provides the resources to accomplish the task.
How can you give financially?
There are various ways! Just click on the Support Me! tab to the left to donate online…
  1. You can choose to donate monthly- you can choose the amount and when you would like the donations to start and end…
  2. You can choose to donate a one-time gift online.
  3. You can write a check and send it to Adventures in Missions for one time and monthly donations. Please make checks payable to Adventures In Missions and send to Adventures In Missions, PO Box 534470, Atlanta, GA,30353-4470. (Just make sure that my name is on the memo line so that they know where the funds are supposed to go.)

I have to be fully funded by 6 months into my trip so this means that one time girfts and all monthly commitments must be completed by June 2012. Because of this deadline I’m asking if you would consider starting your monthly support in September or October and continue through June 2012.

*There is a processing fee taken from online donations (5% for credit cards and 3% for online bank transfers)
***Adventures In Missions is registered with the Internal Revenue Service as a 501 (c) (3) non- profit organization.  Donors will receive receipts for their gifts with the understanding that the disbursement of those gifts lies completely at the discretion of Adventures In Missions and that the gifts are non-refundable and non-transferable, per IRS regulations.  Gifts may be tax deductible; please consult a tax advisor.

What does the money raised cover?
The funds that raised cover all team costs once the trip begins. This includes:
Food, lodging, and air, land & sea travel. It also covers administrative costs, setup costs, coaching costs, debrief costs, and training prior to and at the start of the Race.

It does not include:
Personal spending money, travel to the training, travel to the start point, return travel home from a major U.S. city at the conclusion of the Race, medical insurance [required], and vaccinations
With the exception of personal spending money, racers are permitted to raise additional funds to cover these costs and be reimbursed.

Here are my Fundraising goals:
  • $3,500 – due 10/1/2011 (2 weeks before Training Camp)
  • $6,500 – due 12/18/2011 (2 weeks prior to launch)
  • $11,000 – due 4/1/2012 (end of 3 months on the field)
