Wow! What amazing places the Lord takes His followers!!

I guess you could call me a Kentucky girl… it’s where most of my life was spent growing up and it’s where my parents still live. I don’t have much of a southern accent, but accents are all relative anyway ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ve known and loved the Lord since I was 7 or 8 – I still remember that first time when I stood up and claimed to love Jesus and wanted to let others know as well… it’s amazing how that one simple act, in a child’s faith, shapes the course of a life! It is the reason I have the close friends that I do, the reason I chose the college I went to, the reason my heart races at the thought of what is to come… HE is the reason for all that is good in my life.
Fast forward to where I am today and wow! looking back to all those dips and turns and peaks and valleys that God took me through were gently (or not so gently) shaping, altering and preparing me for such a time as this! I am excited, though in part the whole idea is still registering, but one thing I feel that is so amazing is content and peace. My heart has been drawn to missions since high school, but it’s been at least 3 years that I’ve known I was supposed to go somewhere in missions – I just didn’t know when or where. I’ve been restless in that time, not really knowing where I was suposed to be, just knowing I was meant to go. Only a handful of people really knew this calling I knew I had – it was hard to verbalize something I didn’t see clearly myself. But, now! Now I just smile ๐Ÿ™‚ “For I know the plans I have for you”, says the Lord and to be anxious in nothing! He continues to show me over and over that He has the best plan for me and He will work out the details in His timing and that He loves me and wants to give me great things, regardless of what I do or ever could do!

Why the World Race?  b/c God has bigger and better things planned for me than I could ever dream or imagine… this is only the beginning!

– writting like this – for others to read – makes me a little nervous b/c I feel vulnerable in my writting, it is where thoughts surface that I sometimes don’t know exist. Though part of me is anxious about exposing my inner self to others I don’t quite know yet, it is a good thing. There is saftey in the body of believers, a trust and bond that goes beyond friendships and aquaintances, grounded in the love of Christ.
