I have been on the race for over 5 months and I have been meaning to post a blog about my teammates since week 2 of Swaziland… obviously that hasn’t happened, but I’m thinking now is that time. Here is just a little something about each one of my teammates.
Sam Haymond: Sam is 20 years old, grew up in Bakersfield, California and started working full-time when he was 15. One of the hardest working dudes you will ever meet. He moved to Sandpoint, Idaho last year which is such a blessing for me because he is so close to me back home. Sam leads with humility and servanthood and loves to play just about any sport, but mostly basketball. He is the guy everyone goes to for bible questions too, so the man has some wisdom. Really do look up to him a lot.
Trevor Regan: Trevor is 20 years old and from the backwoods of New York. He makes it very clear that he is not from the city whenever people ask because he loves the outdoors so much. He also is very into Young Life, so me and him have a lot of fun talking about all of our YL stories. Trev has grown so so much on the race so far and is someone I love to be around. Very goofy and fun guy who loves the Lord.
Sam Troutt: Troutt is 19 years old from Dallas, Texas. Boy is he proud to be a Texan… and let me tell you, he is proud of a lot of other things too haha. He is one rambunctious guy and it is awesome for our team. He also has grown so so much since being on the race and really is such a good friend. Troutt loves to run and basically play any other sport. One of the funniest things to watch is him and Haymond compete because they are both so competitive with everything. Love this guy!
Caelum Friggle: Caelum is 20(almost 21) years old and is from Springfield, Missouri. Caelum was a stud football player in high school so it has been really nice having a brother who loves football and staying in shape like I do. That and us being two of the oldest on the squad definitely brought us together since the beginning, but now he is really like a brother to me. He is very bold and is so passionate about truth. Respect and love this guy so much. Really is someone to look up to and trust.
Nate Tyson: Big Nate is 18 years old and from New York City. This guy is almost always playing his guitar and singing to God. He has an amazing passion for worship. He is also known for talking in different accents about 50% of the time. Right now he is very much so into the Office and watches at least one episode every night. A true character who you gotta love. Crazy that he is the guy I spent almost every night at training camp in the same tent. So excited to see where God leads him. And visit him in the big apple!
Caleb Mitchell: Caleb is 18 years old from northern Virginia (close to D.C). he is the most talented guy I have ever met. I think he can play 8 different instruments, but when he sings and plays the guitar it is one of my favorite things. I love how much of a showman, but also humble man of God he is. Me and Caleb have a lot of similarities(other than our musical talents!) so it has been easy to connect with him since the beginning. Similar to me and Caelum. He also has a career fire-fighting job waiting for him when he gets back home. He has been so intentional about seeking me out and truly caring about how I am doing. I love this guy so much!
Just this little bit about all of these brothers doesn’t begin to sum up how amazing these guys are. They are all the biggest blessings from God.
