The past month-and-a-half has been very different than the first three months. Swaziland was quiet and we had the same ministry at the care points and the prison everyday. Nepal was very fast paced and we had a different ministry every single day. In Nepal we aren’t able to be as open about our faith as we were in Swaziland, so pretty much everything about Nepal was different. With all of the change and culture shock going on during my month in Nepal I definitely struggled. I had almost no hunger for Gods word and I was constantly giving into all the distractions in Kathmandu. This took me and the team about two weeks to really figure out that something needs to change. A big turning point for me in Nepal was when we got to go trekking in the Anna Purna mountain range and evangelize to the locals in the villages we stayed in during those nights. I got to see our host get so fired up whenever the Gospel was shared to different families in the villages and it really sparked that fire in me again. We were so blessed to have had a host so on fire for God and also so selfless, lead us through the Himalayas and in the streets of Kathmandu. The Lord really humbled me during my month in Nepal and he also reminded me of how powerful he is. Even though almost everyday at ministry I had a selfish mindset, he still was able to use me. It didn’t matter that I was struggling to read his word and struggling to remind myself of why I was there, he still used me. Man was it incredible to see a country where the gospel cannot be openly shared have so many TRUE believers as well. It is so true that nothing will stop the gospel from spreading and God really showed me that in Nepal. I also have some memories there that I will never forget! Like seeing my best friend Bryan/brain train from back home for 3 hours in Kathmandu!
I have now been in India for almost two weeks and let me tell you…. it is so different than what I thought it would be! We are in a place in India that the Lord has blessed so much. So many people know him and I am staying at a dang bible college. So far we have done a little “construction” and also have been working at a children’s retreat with almost 2,500 kids. This place has been a huge blessing. More blogs will be coming soon too!
