The moment I walked into our house this month I was quickly reminded that I am still very much on the world race. A small house, that maybe a family of two would live in back home, was going to house 14 people this month. A squatty potty, 1 shower, and 4 small fans all enclosed in concrete shell made for less than desirable living conditions.
Not entirely sure what ministry was going to look like this month, I prayed to God and asked him what he wanted from me during my time here in Cambodia. His response was simple.
BE AVAILABLE…
BE AVAILABLE to love the children in
the villages who spend their days sifting
through and separating trash to earn a mere 200 riel (5 cents) a day.
BE AVAILABLE to love to prostitute selling herself on the street.
BE AVAILABLE to love the man that is buying her.
BE AVAILABLE to encourage the men and women that are living here in Cambodia doing God’s work.
BE AVAILABLE to teach English.
BE AVAILABLE to paint walls.
JUST BE AVAILABLE.
So that is exactly what I am doing this month. I am opening my ears to listen to the Lord and simply be available to do whatever it is that he asks me to.
