Meet my Team
I have always wanted a sister- and this year the Lord has given me 6. The Lord has so divinely brought these beautiful women into my life this year. Our team is so perfectly blended- none of us are the same. Each of us are unique. And I love it. The way we love each other is a lot like our Father’s love- its effortless.
Let me tell ya about my girls.
Nikki or Nik

Nikki is the very first person I met at training camp. Nikki is High spirited. A ball of energy and personality. You can’t help but notice her when she walks into a room. Her personality is contagious and always attracting others. Nikki makes me laugh uncontrollably- I’ve never met someone who can imitate people so well- a natural born actress. She is always keeping things interesting and making us laugh. Nikki also has one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard. When she sings- you stop singing so you can hear her. When she worships- you can’t help but watch her. Nikki is personable. Relational. Has a big heart. Is so good with kids in ministry. They are drawn to her. Like I said- you can’t help but notice Nikki. The Lord brought Nikki into my life to show me how to just be yourself. I’ve never met someone so comfortable in their own skin. For our team, it helps us let our walls down- and be ourselves. I also believe the Lord also brought Nikki on this team to keep us laughing. WE love to laugh and most of the time it is because of Nikki. Love you Nik!
Valerie or Val

Val is the oldest person on our team which could also explain why she is the wisest. This woman holds so much wisdom. When she speaks, everyone remains silent because we know she is about to speak some truth into us. Val is one of the most honest people I’ve ever met. Val is my voice of reason. I always go to her for advice. Ironically, Val has her master’s degree in counseling. Which is probably why we all go to her for advice. But there is much more to Val than this. Val is like a tree. Her roots run deep. Her trunk is strong. Her branches have grown over the years and can withstand the wind and storms. She never wavers. But she also grows fruit. Good fruit. Fruit of knowledge and wisdom. And her fruit is so attractive to us- that we want to go to her tree and have some of it. And it is so good for us. You’re beautiful Val- inside and out. The Lord told me I would learn a lot from you this year and I have so much already. Love you Val!
Maci or Mace

Mace, where do I begin? Well to start, this girl is hilarious. Between her and Nikki, our team never has a dull moment and I LOVE IT. Mace is also from the south so most of the sayings I say, we can both relate to. It’s so good. Mace never fails to make our team laugh. But what I love about Mace the most is that she is the most transparent person I have ever met. She is honest and isn’t afraid to give her opinion. She is sure of herself and doesn’t try to be anything she is not. I truly admire her. She bares her true soul to the world and is not ashamed. Whether she sees it or not, she holds a lot of pure self-confidence. The Lord brought Mace into my life to show me how to not conceal my feelings. She inspires me to say how I feel when I feel it and not be ashamed of expressing my emotions. The Lord also brought Mace into my life to teach me how to be honest- with others and with myself. Mace, I hope you never change that about yourself. It is a beautiful quality. And something this team feeds off. Because you express your emotions so easily, it is a ripple effect on this team. Love you Mace!
Emilie or Em

Every time I speak to this girl, I see something new in her and learn something else about her. I am continually wondering what is going through her mind and wanting to “pick her brain.” Em is a middle school teacher. Which probably explains why she is so patient with all of us. Em is a steady presence for this team. She is poised and carries herself so well. This girl didn’t have her pack for the first week in Colombia (it got lost at the airport) and I never saw her get upset once about it. Em is also so good at conversation. Very easy to talk to. A calming presence. Em truly cares about this team and it’s evident in how she treats us. Em is also someone who will say something funny out of nowhere and I love it. The Lord brought Em into my life to show me how to be still. How to remain patient. The way she carries herself is something I want more of. The Lord told me that she will be like a rock for this team. Love you Em!
Shelby or Shelbs

Ok yall, this girl LOVES Jesus. It is so evident. You can see Him so clearly in her. She is so full of life. She is sunshine to this group. She makes things lighthearted and joyful. Her smile lights up the room. Her laughter fills the room. Her happiness is contagious. Shelby is one of those people who could be in one of the worst places and still find a reason to be happy. But Shelby is also a bold evangelist and a bold worshiper. She worships with all her being. Its captivating. She isn’t afraid to let the Holy Spirit move inside her. They way she talks about the Lord is beautiful. And the way she walks with Him is even more beautiful. Shelby is amiable and doesn’t meet a stranger. She truly loves people and wants to invest more in them. I have loved getting to know her better this month. The Lord brought Shelby into my life to show me how to love others and to choose joy despite any circumstance. What she has is truly a gift from God. The Lord knew we needed Shelby on this team to overflow us with her love and happiness- fill us up with all the good stuff. Love you Shelbs!
Shondra or Shon or Shon-dee

The first time I met Shondra at training camp I secretly hoped we would be friends and something in me knew we would be. I prayed for us to be on the same team. This girl slept in my tent with me almost every night at training camp and the conversations we had were so personable. We connected so easily. I knew the Lord would establish a beautiful friendship between us. Shondra is one of the most vulnerable people I have ever met. She says how she feels when she feels it and there is just something about her that makes you so comfortable around her. She is very personable and relational. Shondra has a way with her words- that when she speaks it comes out so eloquently put together with honesty and wisdom. Shondra loves to laugh and her laugh is so distinct. I have never heard anything like it. When she laughs, I laugh. Shondra also has a big heart. I’ve watched her love this team, kids in ministry and pray over people on the street. Shondra has the gift of discernment. She senses things and see things so clearly in a way that others may not. She has a burning passion to be ever so present with God- and a willing open heart to serve Him with all she has. The Lord brought Shondra into my life to show me how to be vulnerable. The Lord also brought Shondra in my life to be my friend. He knew I needed her this year. I love you Shon!
Madison or Mads

Mads is our squad leader and man does she steward us so well. Mads knows when to sit still and observe us and when to call us higher. The way Mads has submerged herself into this group and loved us so effortlessly reflects Christ’s love. She has become part of our team and its amazing how close she has become to us so quickly. This girl walks with God so fiercely. She is full of faith. Her obedience to the Lord is something so special, that I want to walk with the Lord how she does. Mads was supposed to stay only for 5 months with this squad as a squad leader, but the Lord called her to stay for the entire year and she is faithfully surrendering to the call from the Lord for her life. Can’t wait to learn more from her this month/ year! Love you Mads!
This team is something special for sure. We are all perfectly and uniquely knitted together in Christ. I love these women and looking forward to continuing serving and walking beside them this year.
