Dear Friends and family,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am so excited to share with all of you that I have been given the opportunity to serve overseas in 11 different countries and share the love of Jesus to the nations. Starting in January 2018, I will be traveling with a team from World Race to Haiti, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, China, Mongolia, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Rwanda, and Uganda. I will spend one month in each country working with the local church and different organizations to meet the needs of each community while spreading the gospel. Ministry on the race will look a lot different from month to month in order to meet the specific needs of each community that we enter. Our goal is to do whatever it takes to bring God’s Kingdom to earth and spread His love around the world. Jesus instructed his disciples to go preach the gospel, heal the sick, and raise the dead, and it is the desire of my heart to raise to life a generation of modern-day disciples for His Kingdom.
The purpose of this letter is to ask you to partner with me as I begin this new chapter. Over the next year, I will need to raise $18,000.00. I am inviting you on this journey with me and I would love any support that you could offer. Not only do I need financial support, but also I would love for you to join me in prayer over myself, my team and all those that we will come in contact with during our trip. I will be spending the next 10 months fundraising, preparing my heart spiritually, and growing deeper in my relationship with Christ and I would appreciate your prayers through that process.

To donate online, you can go to my blog page at laurenmating.theworldrace.org, and click on the “Support Me” link in the upper left-hand side of the page and then follow the donating instructions.
You can also give monthly through a website called Dynapay, which you can sign up for at http://www.adventures.org/dynapay. You have to contact Donor Relations when you want to stop the donations at [email protected] or call 1-800-881-2461 ex 251.
Also keep in mind with monthly payments, that if you wanted to support me for 11 months you would need to start before I actually leave, because my final financial deadline to be fully funded is four months into the Race (April 2018). All of my money must be raised by then.
Sending a donation in the mail-
Make checks payable to Adventures in Missions and you must include “World Race Lauren Mating” in the memo line, otherwise, the donation will not be directed to my account. Please mail all checks to Adventures in Missions, P.O. box 742570, Atlanta, GA 30374-2570

Tax Deduction Information-
Adventures In Missions is a tax-exempt organization under IRS code 501(c)(3) and is a member of the ECFA. (Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability). Due to IRS and ECFA regulations governing the administration of tax deductible donations given in support of a particular trip/program, support contributions given on behalf of an individual will be used to offset the costs of the trip/program you are involved in. All contributions are non-refundable regardless of the participant’s success in completing the program.
Other giving options-
I will have other expenses that will not be covered by the cost of the trip that I will need to raise separately (i.e. gear, flights to and from training camp in Georgia, flight to the launch point within the U.S. and the flight back to Illinois when I return to the U.S. etc.). If you would feel more comfortable donating to these expenses, you can contact me directly to give to my other needed funds. Also, keep a lookout for some fundraising events that will happen later this year. This is something I really have to trust the Lord with and I thank you for any consideration in donating in this matter!
