God
has
a
sense of humor.
He loves to make his children laugh.
Taking you to places you never thought you would ever go.
Then looking back
and laughing with Him.
Laughing because He is so good,
all-knowing,
and still loves us.
He took me
to
the side of a mountain,
to dig a trench.
A
task I didn’t really want to do when I was first told about it.
Fighting in my head,
why did it have to be our team that had to do that job.
See, God is funny in that way.
He knew I needed an attitude check
and
he checked it on the side of a muddy slippery mountain
digging a trench.
I had let small things start to bug me and they had started to turn into lies that I was slowly starting to believe.
Slowly
dividing me from my team.
See the enemy thinks he is clever that way,
but he is not good.
Only
GOD
is
GOOD.
Digging that trench
only brought my team closer to each other
and
closer to our Father.
Halfway through our first day digging it started to pour,
downpour
and
there was not really any good or easy way to get off the mountain because it was so muddy.
So I decided to stay and dig.
To dig and tell
the
enemy
“Leave me the hell alone”
“You have no rights here”
“You do not have the right to steal my joy”
That day the enemy was washed away with the cleansing rains that came and finally went away, leaving the sun shining.
Leading me into the cleansing waters
so
I can remember who God is
and
who I was created to be
and
laugh with Him.
