I am leaving
for
the
World Race
(how crazy is this?)
After a year of preparing,
Why is leaving still so hard?
Why is it so hard to pack up all you think you need for a year
and
say goodbye to everything you know?
Because…
Home is my safe space, it is where my friends and family are.
My bedroom is that place I go when I need rest and a place of refuge.
It has held comfort for many years.
And…
The World Race
is not my safe space.
The World Race
is not where my family and friends are.
The World Race
is outside of my comfort zone
and
where comfort is not a sure thing.
But…
The World Race
is a safe space in Christ.
The World Race
is where my new family will be.
The World Race
is inside the comfort zone of Christ.
What will this new year bring?
What will this new season be like?
Growth in the Lord.
Learning to live in community.
Giving feedback.
Opening up.
Laying down what is hard to let go of.
