UPDATE: We ARE going to Haiti for month two! Re-read the details to get a glimpse of what next month will look like!
I’ve recently received details regarding the type of ministry I’ll be doing in Haiti and I couldn’t wait to share them with you all!
- Where?: Titanyen, Haiti–A village of 13,000 residents that sits about 20 miles north of Haiti’s capital, Port-au-Prince. This is a rural area that was chosen as the site for mass graves following the devastating 2010 earthquake in Haiti. I’m expecting the heaviness to be tangible in this area, but now 8 years out from this natural disaster, I’m also expecting hope to be flourishing throughout this village and I can’t wait to come alongside them and continue to pour out the hope that Jesus offers each every Haitian I’ll encounter

- Who?: Mission of Hope Haiti–A ministry that exists to “bring life transformation to every man, woman, and child in Haiti” who desires “to serve the nation of Haiti, and see lives changed” My team of 6 plus another team of 7 from my squad will be serving at MOH Haiti together! I’m so excited to do month one with 12 other members from my squad!! Learn more about MOH Haiti here.
- What?: Village Ministry, Construction, English Classes. Village ministry has been described to me as establishing relationships with the people of Titanyen by using “clean water safety training as a bridge to share the gospel.” As a health professional, I’m very excited this is part of our first month’s ministry assignment and can’t wait to share about my experiences doing village ministry in future blog posts!
- How?: WITH BUNK BEDS AND FULL BATHROOMS! (& 24/7 armed security guards for all my safety conscious friends and family) The Lord is blessing my team and I by providing semi-normal living arrangements for us this first month. MOH Haiti is a big compound divided into small houses where volunteers/missionaries live during their stay. I won’t be partaking in the tent/squatty potty life yet, and for that I am grateful!

- Why?: To spread the hope and love of Jesus with the people of Titanyen through the relationships we’ll establish during our month there!
Thanks for reading about the ministry I’ll be doing in Haiti! I hope you’ll continue to follow my World Race journey by subscribing for blog updates if you aren’t already!
