Tomorrow is the day. For months we’ve been hearing about it. The anticipation has been building since the news of their engagement. Many (me) will wake up in the wee hours of the morning to watch history unfolding live.

Meghan Markle will walk down that VERY long aisle, in the royal wedding of the year, to marry her (literal) Prince Harry who will be there waiting for her. No longer to be a commoner and her life will never been the same as she becomes Princess.

I mean, totally normal, right? HA

It’s a classic fairytale love story that every woman and young girl hopes to live out… but holy cow, to have your wedding globally watched around the world, no pressure for the bride at all. Nope, none lol.

I have been watching so much royal wedding coverage this week. I’m obsessed with British and royal culture and I find it all so so fascinating. You hear the word bride so much. You associate it with wedding, white gown, handsome groom, flowers, and all the other wonderful things.

I’m single. I’ve never been a bride, but oh do I love a good wedding ๐Ÿ˜‰ and so the word “bride” right now in my life looks a little different for me.

John 3:29 starts off…..

“He who has the bride is the bridegroom…” goes on to talk about marriage between God and his people and the church.

Isaiah 61:10

“I will rejoice greatly in the Lord, my soul will exult in my God for he has clothed me with garments of salvation. He has wrapped me with a robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with a garland, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.”

Bride is used so many times in the bible but in reference to how he views the church and his people, how he views me.

One of the greatest things I love about weddings is seeing the love between a bride and her groom. Sometimes it’s just palpable and overwhelming and it brings tears to my eyes. You just so tangibly feel and sense the love. And when you apply that same concept to God’s love for the church and his bride…. you and me, that level of love is off the charts.

Getting caught up in the pomp and circumstance of a royal wedding, the history being made, the love…. Wondering, oh what is she going to wear? How is her hair going to be? The fairytale of it all is just so much fun.

But God’s love. It’s not fairytale. It’s real. It’s tangible. And it’s without end and without conditions.

It’s the greatest royal love of all. The ultimate love. The deepest most unfathomable love. So in those fleeting moments of my singleness when I start to question the journey, I am reminded of what his word says. And his word is good and true and written on my heart as a constant reminder of his faithfulness and his perfect plan and his perfect timing.

I better call it a night, I have a wedding to attend tomorrow ๐Ÿ˜‰ Whatever will I wear? Ha.

(Spoiler alert: will be pajamas) ๐Ÿ˜‰
