I have always had a heart for others, and a deep desire to be a mother to the orphaned, to love the unloved, and to feed the people with starving bellies in Africa.  I wrote this poem in fourth grade and have prayed to understand my Savior’s call for my life. I found my life when I laid it down.

I am overjoyed for the opportunity to serve with the World Race in Ghana this summer. My love for the people of Africa runs deep in my soul!

I AM

I am inspiring

I wonder if I can end world hunger

I hear my family’s words of encouragement

I see things that need my help

I want world peace

I am inspiring

I pretend I’m a homeless person on the street and how I would feel if cars just kept passing me

I feel sorry for people in hospitals and dying in the streets

I touch people’s hearts

I worry I’m not making a big impact on the world

I cry because people are dying and need my help

I am inspiring

I understand how my life is different than others

I say I can do anything

I dream people will not be sick and hurting

I try to change the world

I hope I can change the world

I am inspiring
