Hi! I’m excited that you are here & I’m excited to share this journey with you through this blog! I’m going to be spending 3 months this fall in Northern Africa and I want to use this blog to tell of how Jesus is moving (before & during my trip) and what He is up to, because Jesus is always up to something..even in the seemingly mundane days.

Here’s a little insight to who I am & pieces of my walk that’ll help you understand how I found myself on this trip.

My name is Lauren Dellinger. I am 20 years old and I’m from a small town in North Carolina. I’ve known the name of Jesus since I was old enough to talk. Growing up in America, especially in the bible belt, we are blessed to be surrounded by the gospel in this way, but nevertheless – it’s still up to us what we want to do with it. I “prayed the prayer”  & began calling Jesus “Lord” at 8 years old. At 13, I told Jesus ‘yes’ to the tug to go to the nations.. and since then He’s taken me all over the globe on international mission trips as He has revealed Himself to me in MIGHTY ways and given me a passion for His people.

Last year Jesus fought for me in the wildest of ways. He saw a potential in me that I struggle to comprehend, and He fought for my heart. (for a deeper explanation into this – check out my blog about 2018 here.) Chains were broken & my eyes were opened to what truly FOLLOWING Christ, and not just acknowledging His existence, was. I lost the world, but I found something much better – Jesus.

Since that day, when I drove with tears streaming down my face, finally FULLY surrendering to His will no matter what, it has been a WILDDD ride, but a fruitful one.

Jesus called me to put college on hold for a while and serve in Kings Mountain. I have seen the Lord do MIRACULOUS things in this small town and watched lives be surrendered to Him. I lead a bible study/house church out of a bonus room of my house and the community that I have found in this ministry is so pure and so encouraging. Jesus is just getting started with this group. (pray for us!)

This summer, I will be serving in Africa for 6 weeks with LoveAfrica. I’ll be in Zambia, Zimbabwe and Kenya. Then I’ll return home for a little over a month before I set out on this journey with the World Race.

I’m BEYOND excited for what all God has in store. But like I’ve said – God is just as much at work on these simple days in Kings Mountain, as He is on foreign mission trips. Its all about surrender & making yourself available for Him to use you. So welcome to a blog full of stories about human surrender leading to His power and glory being displayed.
