Last Friday at yoga, I remember one thing the instructors said… “Don’t look to the person next to you, focus on you.” Sometimes, I would find myself looking at the people around me and think I wasn’t as flexible or strong as them. But then, I would shake those thoughts away and focus on my own practice, and enjoyed it so much better.

I definitely do this in other aspects of my life as well. Recently, I have really been comparing myself to others. I’ve seen how lots of people my age around me are engaged, married, buying a house, having kids, etc. And to be honest, it makes me feel behind. Going on The World Race is going to delay all of those huge life moments in my life. While I already knew this going into my commitment, it is still hard some days.

But then I have to remember to not look to my left and right- look up! To the Lord! Who has completely blessed my life by calling me to go on this amazing opportunity of a lifetime!!! I mean I get to explore ELEVEN new countries, meet new people, make lifelong friends, and HELP people in need! Ahh, I am so amazed by the Lord’s unique plan for my life.

He has called me to go on The World Race for a reason, and I know I need to focus on that. Instead of focusing on what others are doing this year, I need to focus on preparing for the Race. And next year, I will focus on serving others and leading them to Christ.

And there will be a day in my life- when I’m sitting in my living room in a house my husband and I bought… with our kids running around… and I will be SO happy with the amazing journey God has led me on, and will be looking forward to what He has next for me!

Where are You now
When all I feel is doubt
Where are You now
When I can’t figure it out

Oh, I, I
I hear You say
I hear You say

Look up, child
