One of the first things that was said to us 300+ racers last week at training camp was this: “When you create space for The Lord, He’ll step into it.” And man was that statement true.
Training camp was crazy. I stepped foot in Gainesville, Georgia completely overwhelmed by everything and everyone around me. I had no clue how I was supposed to get close to these 51 girls, no clue how I was supposed to grow with the Lord, no clue what I was doing taking this leap of faith.
But the Lord knew.
Over the course of ten days, I was broken. I was completely shattered, stretched, pushed and challenged. Between bucket showers, sleeping outside in tents, hammocks, and even on the concrete, eating crickets, staying up for hours worshipping, and consistently –literally 24/7- being out of my comfort zone, The Lord showed up. Every. Single. Time.
We created space. We took a step away from reality (okay, probably 1,000 steps) and allowed ourselves to be completely open to what the Lord was going to do.
Through out the week I entered into areas of my life that I thought were closed- stepping into places of forgiveness and confession that I didn’t even know still affected me. But by doing so, I made room for the Lord to work in me. He took me by my hand and lead me into freedom. He constantly reminded me that I am walking in a newness of life with Him.
So, yes, I walked into training camp completely overwhelmed by everything around me. BUT, I walked out completely overwhelmed by the grace of God, and I will continue to walk in the newness of life He has called me into. And I get to journey into this year with 51 of the godliest women I get to call my sisters in Christ. Amen to that!
“We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.” Romans 6:4

My next deadline is September 16. I am still selling t-shirts if you want one! If you feel led to financially support me in any other way, you can do so by clicking the “support me button”. Once again, I know the Lord will continue to show up in this journey! Thank you all so much!
