Earlier this week while the men retreated away for a few nights to have man time with the other guys of J Squad, the ladies of Team Moriah held down the fort in our home in Arroyo Cano. We were offered an invitation to go to what we thought was a Bible study and excited to spend some more time with our church family here, we agreed.

What we thought was going to be a Bible study turned into an hour long trek through the mountainous jungle-like land. We finally made it to a group of people who literally live in the middle of nowhere. We split up into smaller groups and went to share God`s love with people and prayed for them.

In Matthew 28 it is written, "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you."

God makes this command clear. Go to all nations. Not just where you`re safe. Not just where you`re comfortable. But wherever He leads you. Walking up and down mountains for an hour in the midday heat in flip flops was probably not the best time I`ve ever had. But, knowing that God might have used me as a vessel to plant seeds into people makes it more than worth it.

One thing I`m realizing as month one comes to an end is how precious God`s love is and how so many people need to hear about it. I know in my own life that once I came to the full realization of the love that God has for me, I was wrecked. He loves me despite all of my brokenness and all of my selfishness. He never quits fighting for me and is always faithful. In return, I am called to love people despite their brokenness. I am called to give my love away.

I`m not going to end this with my own words but of one of my college professors. I hope it impacts you the way it did me.

"The love of God can therefore be seen as amazing, astounding generosity.
This world was not required to be made.
This universe is not a utility to God.
He`s already the maximum of excellenece and goodness and wisdom and love.
He didn`t make us to get something out of it.

And yet, He not only made us but he poured His life into us.
This universe is the gift of God.
The love of God can be seen through the gift of His son.
The greatest good with the deepest wisdom turns out to be the law of the cross.
Overcoming evil with good.
True love is sacrificial love, giving our love away."
