You are going to go in there to pray and sing.
I'll give you words.
I’ve given you a voice for a reason.
Go.”

These were the words I heard God speak to me a few days ago. It was probably the loudest I’ve ever God in my life. There was no denying it. I had to go.
Let me back up a bit.

Singida was having a crusade. Not the kind from the 12th century, but a crusade nonetheless. There would be a stage, worship through music and dance, and an American speaker. There would also be an altar call where hundreds of people would come forward and accept Christ and ask Him into their hearts for the first time. But no one warned me that there would also be people manifesting demons. Which, honestly, I’m starting to think that all there is in Tanzania are adorable children, rice and beans, and demons.
Behind the stage there was a blue tent where the would place the demon possessed people. After God spoke these words to me I sucked up my own doubts and went in. I really don’t think I could come up with words for some of the things I was seeing. I saw people writhing around on the ground like snakes, I saw young children barely being held down by five adults. I even almost got punched in the face by one girl. It was not a pretty picture.
I began doing what God told me to do and any ounce of fear I might’ve had in me vanished. I was clothed in his armor, ready to battle. I don’t remember a lot of what I said or sung, I just know that I saw freedom in it’s rawest form. When a demon left someone they would sit up and the expression that would be on their face…I know I cannot describe it.
If there’s any ounce of doubt in you while reading this, I can leave you with words from our contact’s wife; “It’s in the Bible.” There is constant battle going on all around us. Thankfully, God chooses not to let us see it all the time. But whether we see it or not, it’s still there. The best part of it all is that God has already won the battle. There’s no reason to fear anything. He is so much bigger, better, and stronger. In the dark, He is there. In the lion’s den, He is there. He is there and He is speaking, shouting even. One day He might call you up to fight. Are you listening?
