And so it begins…..
Playing soccer with kids! Soccer is HUGE in South America!

At the equator, ya know..just holding the world up! jk. 🙂
Hola from Ecuador! I have been on the World Race for five days, and I am already experiencing some amazing growth in myself as well as squad and team growth because we have all come to be so united in the Holy Spirit! I have been in ministry training in the city of Quito. Tomorrow I will travel for eight hours on a bus, with my six teammates, to a place of no name. It is in the Amazon Jungle and is home of the Quechua Indian tribe. Totally cool, huh? OKay, get this: Out of the nine teams on my squad, my team gets the most INTENSE, most DIFFICULT living condiditons of them all. This would happen to me; the germ-a-phob, clean freak!!!……I’m totally psyched!!!!! I’m gonna be a jungle woman of God and shower under waterfalls that are thirty minutes from the village so that by the time I get back to the village, I am dirty again! Hahaha! Not only does this place have no name; it has no electricity, no running water, no bathrooms, no internet service, very humid and hot, and tons of bugs that apparently immune to American bug spray! They have not had vistors in a really long time and the ministry contact of Ecuador says that it may take a while for the people to warm up to us, because they do not trust Americans. Americans have been destroying their land for the purpose of finding pertroleum. So, my team has to clean up the mess and show them what LOVE means. We have plans to build them a well and do VBS for children. I have never built a well before, but I’d sure love to learn! Oh, and by the way, we have nicknamed the village KM17 because it is 17 km from the nearest city.
I may not be able to blog for the next month that I am in the jungle, but please, please pray for me and my team, as well as the other nine teams on my squad, which are spread all over the country to bring HEALING, HOPE, LOVE, JOY, PEACE, AND ETERNAL LIFE to ECUADOR!
I am SO VERY thankful for the opportunity to serve God in this way over the next year. I pray God blesses you for supporting me, and I can’t wait to tell you more about how He works miracles and saves the Quechua people at KM17. I proclaim and believe that it will happen. ……….Faith.
