Yes, “Daydream Believer” or “I’m a Believer,” as in the 1960’s songs by the Monkees. Classics! And it’s the epitome of my life right now!!! No, not the Monkees, silly. Although I do like their little matching outfits that they wear in their music videos! So cute. Haha! Oh, and there was this one time that my roommate and I got called up from an audience of 1,300 people to dance with a band on stage, and what move did we choose to do?…. “The Monkey,” of course! I note that as my fifteen seconds of fame. ; ) Also, I’ve always wanted a baby monkey as a pet. I’d name him Sherbet, like the ice cream.
Anyway, where was I? Oh yeah, my life! Well, I cannot stop daydreaming about my upcoming year…my journey around the world on The World Race 11 countries in 11 months: Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Eastern Europe, South Africa, Mozambique, Swaziland, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam. I find myself sitting in Biochemistry daydreaming about sharing God’s love all over the world. Can someone say SENIORITUS!? Lord, either make me a doctor really fast or send one to heal me! 😛
It is eight months away, but it seems so close that I can almost feel the African dust on my face and taste the Bolivian food in my mouth! Yes, I have already danced with the Masai tribe of Africa, drank Chi tea at every meal, looked up at the stars from the equator, sang “Hakuna Matata” with the king of the jungle, gave my testimony to the orphans, and loved on the Bolivian elderly people. On my journey with The World Race I will get to go back to the some of the places I have already grown to love, as well as fall in love with more places because of my love for their beautiful people. All I really want to do is show them God’s Love, the love that has given me EVERYTHING! <3
So, I have eight months to prepare: get my tent, backpack, and supplies (I hear that I will be roughing it.), raise $15,000 (No, I’m not joking.), and grow deeper in my relationship with the Lord (As I know that my faith will be tested.). I’m a believer that God can send tiny miracles my way, that He can use others to aid me in this ministry. It seems impossible, yet I know a God who can blow that word out of the dictionary! Please be in prayer for me as I begin this journey! THANK YOU!!!
